At about 12:45am Friday morning, Turlock Police responded to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 1900 block of N. Berkeley Avenue.
The caller reported that there had been a Ring camera notification of movement in the basement of his father-in-law’s residence, that his father-in-law was out of town, and that he had arrived at the residence to find broken glass. He also reported that there were several unlocked guns within the residence.
Officers arrived at the residence and noticed obvious signs of forced entry. They began tactically clearing it, with the assistance of university police and sheriff’s deputies, who also brought a canine.
After clearing the residence, it was determined that the suspect or suspects had already fled the scene.
One Taurus .45 caliber handgun was taken in the burglary, which currently still remains outstanding.
At this point, there is no available suspect information.
