A Good Samaritan stopping to help a couple people with what he believed to be car trouble was beaten and carjacked around midnight on April 21.

According to Turlock police, the victim was driving home from work before midnight and stopped on Dianne Drive when he was flagged down by two male subjects who said their vehicle had broken down.

The subjects asked the Good Samaritan if he could jump start their car, then one of the men punched the victim and pulled him out of the vehicle by the collar of his shirt, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

A second suspect forcefully took the victim’s cell phone and wallet, although the cell phone was left at the scene.

The two suspects got in the victim’s white Toyota Tacoma. A third suspect fled in the vehicle that supposedly needed the jump start, a black older model four-door vehicle.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s standing about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches and weighing approximately 190 pounds with a medium build. He was clean shaven and seen wearing a white shirt with black letters and blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s standing approximately 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches with a mustache and light complexion. He was seen wearing a red shirt, red hat, and black pants.

There is no description for the third suspect.

No injuries were reported from the carjacking.
