For those with bookcases sparse, full, or otherwise, The Friends of the Turlock Public Library are bringing back their annual used book sale from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. The sale will be held indoors at the First United Methodist Church located at 1660 Arbor Way.
The sale begins Jan. 30 with “Members Only” night, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Said memberships are $10.00 per year for individuals and $20.00 for families, and will be sold at the door that night.
Admission is free for the public sales on Jan. 31, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a large number of used books – more than 10,000 – to choose from. This includes both hardcover and paperback, and all books have been sorted into over two dozen categories: fiction, travel, history, children’s, biography, politics and more.
This sale is one of the best, offering hardbound volumes at $1.00, paperbacks at $0.50 cents, romances at $0.10, and children’s books at either $0.50 or $0.25 cents.
There will also be numerous books on tape, video, and CD, as well as book sets and old or special books.
Sale items were donated to the Friends of the Turlock Library group by the community, and all sale proceeds will be donated to the Turlock Library to cover various expenses such as children’s programs, furniture and other such things which are not covered by the county budget.
