Free Electronic Recycling Event at CSU Stanislaus

Mosman Council

Tired of those old cell phones lying around? Or how about that old TV that has been sitting in the garage for too long?

This Saturday, the community is invited to bring old electronics to California State University, Stanislaus to be safely recycled for free.

The CSU Stanislaus Geography Club is hosting its fourth annual e-waste collection event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saurday in parking lots 3 and 4 on campus. Over the past three years, the student club has collected more than 38,000 pounds of electronics.

By partnering with Tustin-based e-waste recycling firm All Green Recycling to host the free, annual event, the Geography Club hopes hopes to educate the community about the proper disposal of electronic waste.

Items eligible for recycling include laptops, desktop computers, monitors, televisions, cell phones, MP3 players, printers, ink and toner cartridges, microwaves, cables and wires. Large appliances and light bulbs will not be accepted.

For more information or to find how to get involved, contact the CSU Stanislaus Geography Club at geographyclub@hotmail.com.
