Forbes.com Rates CSU Stanislaus Graduates Among Top Earners

TURLOCK – (October 6, 2008) California State University, Stanislaus ranks among the top public universities that produce top-earning alums, according to a recently published article on a salary potential study published by Forbes.com.
 
In the “Top Colleges For Getting Rich” ratings based on the salaries of college degree holders from the country’s more than 600 public universities, CSU Stanislaus was ranked 137th. The list of 175 “Top State Universities By Salary Potential” included 13 CSU campuses. CSU Stanislaus graduates earn a “mid-career” median of $71,400 and a starting average salary of $38,000, according to the study.
 
“Seeing that many of our graduates are earning top salaries is another validation of the great value students at California State University, Stanislaus receive for their investment in fees that are much lower than at many other colleges,” CSU Stanislaus President Hamid Shirvani said. “Our graduates are discovering that you don’t have to pay more for college to get a good quality education that pays off with a good salary.”
 
A CSU Stanislaus survey of 2007 graduates reveals that 82 percent of them are employed  full-time or are attending graduate school. Another 11 percent of those graduates are working-part-time.
 
Forbes’ rankings were compiled from PayScale.com’s real-time salary data. Forbes looked at the compensation of college graduates from around the country with 10 to 20 years of experience.
