A Turlock home, located at 2020 Jackson Ct., was torched by an attic fire on Sunday night.
A neighbor smelled smoke coming from the house and called 911, leading to a Turlock Fire Department response at about 7:30 p.m. Fortunately, the owner of the home was out of state visiting family and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Turlock Fire determined that the fire started in the attic of the house. At one point a neighboring house was in danger of catching fire.
Fire crews fought the blaze with an elevated hose stream and were able to put the fire out completely by 9:30 p.m. Damage from the fire is estimated at $150,000.
