A brush fire near the Highway 99/Monte Vista Avenue Interchange slowed traffic and closed on-ramps briefly on Monday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol first received a report of the fire at 2:40 p.m. Officers arrived on-scene at 2:50 p.m. The Turlock Police and Fire Departments assisted, putting the blaze out by 3:10 p.m.
The onramp from Monte Vista Avenue to northbound Highway 99 was temporarily closed, but has since reopened.
The cause of the fire remains unclear at this time.
