Emanuel Medical Center is restricting visitors following a threatening phone call.
Public safety personnel advised that the hospital had received a threat involving an Uzi from a phone call and was going into lockdown.
Turlock police were dispatched around 4:10 p.m. to Emanuel Medical Center.
“Emanuel Medical Center takes the safety of our patients, visitors and staff very seriously. We have temporarily restricted visitors as a precaution due to a threatening phone call. The emergency department remains open,” said EMC’s Director of Physician Relations John Gilbert in a statement.
“We regret any concern or inconvenience this may have caused our patients and visitors.”
