An elderly woman suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street Thursday morning.
According to Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, a 78-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Geer Road and Regis Street at approximately 7:09 a.m.
The vehicle was turning left on Geer Road from eastbound Regis Street when the driver hit the elderly woman. She was in the crosswalk when she was hit.
The victim suffered major, but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, Roberto Agard, 22, was arrested cited for driving with a suspended license.
