At about 8:49pm Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a battery that had just occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Pedras Road.

The victim reported he was a 90-year-old man who was just attacked by four men over his Donald Trump sign. Preliminary information also indicated rocks were thrown.

The victim also stated the suspects were last seen westbound on Pedras Road on foot, they were wearing dark clothing, and he had gone back into his residence.

Officer Arroyo arrived on scene and contacted the victim.

Through the investigation, it was determined the suspects were teenagers who had kicked over the victim’s political signs.

“A thorough investigation was conducted and officers determined no assault occurred and no rocks were thrown at the victim,” said Public Affairs Analyst Sanchez.

The investigation revealed the victim and teens had a verbal exchange and the signs were kicked down, causing about $20 in damage.

The suspects have not been identified or contacted at this time.

Turlock City News later learned that the victim was Cyrus Amirfar, an engaged member of the Assyrian American Civic Club of Turlock and father of former Turlock Police Chief Nino Amirfar.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist is encouraged to call Officer Arroyo at 209-668-6553.
