Drunk man arrested after randomly attacking three and causing head injury early Tuesday morning

On Tuesday, June 28th, 2022, at 12:11 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported disturbance in progress at Balboa Park, 1360 Shady Ln, Turlock, where a man was knocking on a random door and yelling.

As officers were responding, they were informed that the incident had been upgraded to an assault and battery in progress. The suspect had begun attacking people and allegedly stating that he wanted to commit murders.

When officers arrived on scene, they on-viewed Trenton Hickey, 18, of Stockton still actively attacking people. He and another subject were detained in handcuffs for further investigation.

Officers began investigating and learned that there were three victims. Two female victims suffered minor injuries and refused to be transported to the hospital. One male victim, the second subject who was originally detained, suffered a moderate injury to the back of his head caused by a glass bottle being thrown. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

Hickey’s motive for the random attack remains unclear, however, he was displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence.

Hickey was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, battery, and public intoxication.
