Newly Appointed TID Board President Michael Frantz

On Sunday, September 26th, 2021, at 8:18 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Stanislaus State Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of W Christofferson Pkwy and W Zeering Rd, Turlock.

While crews were responding to the scene, information was received that one of the involved vehicles had rolled over, landed back on its wheels, and taken off westbound.

When crews arrived on scene, they located a single vehicle at the scene of the collision, which was a white Chevrolet pickup truck. Simultaneously, an officer responding to the scene noticed a white Infiniti coupe with obvious signs that it had just been involved in a collision traveling westbound on W Christofferson Pkwy just west of Crowell Rd. That officer stopped the vehicle and confirmed that it was also involved.

The driver and only occupant of the white Chevrolet pickup truck did not suffer any injuries. The driver and only occupant of the white Infiniti coupe, Oscar Jimenez, 20, of Turlock, suffered minor injuries but refused to be transported to the hospital.

The white Chevrolet pickup truck sustained moderate damage and was able to be driven away from the scene. The white Infiniti coupe sustained major damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away.

Officers began investigating and determined that both vehicles had just passed Crowell Rd while traveling eastbound on W Christofferson Pkwy, when the white Infiniti coupe rear-ended the white Chevrolet pickup truck at high rates of speed. Officers determined that the white Infiniti coupe then took off westbound on W Christofferson Pkwy before it was stopped. The witness reports that the white Infiniti coupe had rolled over were unable to be verified.

While investigating, officers noticed that Jimenez was exhibiting signs of intoxication, so they began conducting standardized field sobriety tests. Based on the results of the tests, officers determined that Jimenez was indeed intoxicated. Jimenez was arrested and released on a citation on charges of driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater.
