On Monday, March 7th, 2022, at 1:07 am, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of N Golden State Blvd and W Canal Dr, Turlock, had a driver who was traveling at high rates of speed nearly collide with him.
The officer got behind the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop on it, however, its driver, later identified as Oscar Folorio, 43, of Delhi, did not originally want to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The pursuit lasted less than a minute and was terminated when Folorio finally stopped just south of Geer Rd on N Golden State Blvd.
Officers conducted a high risk stop, detaining Folorio at gunpoint.
Officers noticed that Folorio was exhibiting symptoms of being intoxicated, so they asked him to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. The officers’ suspicions were confirmed by the results of Folorio’s tests.
Folorio was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater.
