At about 10:21pm Saturday night, Turlock Police responded to a vehicle collision at the Roger K. Fall Transit Center in the 1400 block of N. Golden State Boulevard.
When officers arrived on scene, they found that a gray 2019 Ford F-150 had gone into a bus-only area and went up onto the curb, crashing into some bushes and a rock.
Officers made contact with and identified the vehicle’s two occupants who had remained at the scene, including driver Krystle Perez, 35, of Turlock. Both were uninjured.
Through the investigation, it was determined that there was a third occupant who had been in the vehicle at the time of the collision, but had fled the scene. He was identified and determined to be on probation for driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury to another person.
While speaking with Perez, officers noticed that she was displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence, so they asked her if she’d be willing to participate in standardized field sobriety tests. Perez agreed and completed two tests, however, failed to complete a third one.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, officers determined that Perez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her.
Perez provided two breath samples at the scene as required by California’s implied consent law.
Perez was then released on a citation on the charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, while she was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and her vehicle was impounded.
