On Saturday, August 13th, 2022, at 3:39 am, the California Highway Patrol, Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries northbound State Route 99 just north of Lander Ave, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a Honda sedan that had driven off of the freeway, crashed into a cyclone fence, and ended up in the yard of United Rentals, 1400 South Ave.
The vehicle had a single occupant, Diana Isbael Martinez, 29, of Turlock. She suffered minor injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.
The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away.
After being released from the hospital, Martinez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater. She was also issued an administrative driver’s license suspension order by the California Department of Motor Vehicles and her vehicle was impounded.
Officers began investigating and determined that Martinez was traveling northbound State Route 99 just past Lander Ave in the left lane at an unknown speed, when for an unknown reason, she allowed her vehicle to drift across all lanes and leave the roadway. Her vehicle proceeded in a northeasterly direction, collided with the cyclone fence, and ended up in the United Rentals yard.
