On Thursday, March 31st, 2022, at 3:08 am, the Turlock Police Department and Stanislaus State Police Department were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with unknown injuries in the 2500 block of Crowell Rd, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a single vehicle involved, a white Nissan sedan, which had crashed into the fence of a residence.

The vehicle had a single occupant, identified as Antonio Rodriguez, 24, of Turlock. He was uninjured.

Officers noticed that Rodriguez was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of alcohol, so they asked him to participate in standardized field sobriety tests and to blow into a preliminary alcohol screening device, however, he refused.

The vehicle sustained minor damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away.

Officers began investigating and determined that Rodriguez was in the process of making an eastbound turn onto W Minnesota Ave after traveling southbound on Crowell Rd, when for an unknown reason, he did not properly complete his turn, went up onto the sidewalk on the southeast corner of the intersection, and collided with the fence of the residence.

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or greater, and driving with a suspended driver’s license due to a DUI conviction. He was also issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was impounded.
