At about 12:53am Thursday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a traffic collision with injuries in the 2000 block of W. Monte Vista Avenue.
Officer Rocha was already in the area and heard the collision as it occurred.
When units arrived on scene, they found a single vehicle involved.
The vehicle’s driver, later identified as Sergio Hernandez, 26, of Delhi, had an altered level of consciousness and was slurring his words.
Hernandez was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital, missing one of his upper incisors and complaining of leg pain.
Officer Rios responded to the hospital where he determined Hernandez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.
Hernandez was issued a driver’s license suspension order and released on a citation for driving under the influence of alcohol so he could continue to receive care at the hospital.
Hernandez’s vehicle was towed away from the scene.
Currently, it’s believed that Hernandez had been driving westbound on W. Monte Vista Avenue from Four Seasons Drive when he allowed his vehicle to veer to the left. Hernandez struck the center median twice, drove in a southwesterly direction over the eastbound lanes of traffic, and struck the curb and a tree before coming to final reset.
