At about 12:55am Wednesday, Turlock Police responded to a security check at Geer Road and E. Hawkeye Avenue.

The caller reported there was a man asleep behind the wheel at the intersection, blocking a lane of traffic.

Officer Rios arrived on scene and located the vehicle with Isidro Vieyra, 27, of Modesto, still asleep with loud music coming out of his vehicle.

Rios waited for additional officers to arrive and assist with blocking the vehicle in, before attempting to wake Vieyra up.

Once Vieyra’s vehicle was blocked in, officers woke him up and removed him from his vehicle.

Vieyra displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, Rios determined that Vieyra was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him.

Vieyra was issued a driver’s license suspension order and his vehicle was towed.

Afterward, Vieyra was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08% or greater.
