At about 12:30am Saturday, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a traffic collision with injuries at Farmers Insurance in the 800 block of E. Main Street.

When units arrived on scene, they found that a motorcycle had left the roadway and crashed into some bushes and the building, but hadn’t caused any damage to the building.

Officers contacted Nancy Sanchez, 30, of Turlock, who was near the scene. Sanchez denied being involved in the collision, but was holding a helmet and gloves, and shared the same last name and address as the motorcycle’s registered owner.

Sanchez was discovered to be unlicensed and on searchable probation for assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

While conducting a probation search of Sanchez, an officer could smell the odor of alcohol emitting from her person, but Sanchez decided she didn’t want to participate in any kind of testing and exercised her right to remain silent.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, the officer determined Sanchez was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her.

Sanchez was issued a driver’s license suspension order and then refused to provide a chemical test sample of blood or breath as required by California’s implied consent law, so officers had to obtain a search warrant for her blood.

Sanchez was transported to Doctors Medical Center where blood was forcefully drawn after the warrant was signed and she was medically cleared.

Afterward, Sanchez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license.

Additionally, Sanchez’s motorcycle was towed.
