The driver who hit a Pitman High School student on Thursday morning was unlicensed, according to the Turlock Police Department.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. Thursday, a 15-year-old Pitman student was walking in the crosswalk at the Christoffersen Parkway and Kilroy Road intersection when he was struck by a vehicle making a right-hand turn onto Christoffersen.
“He was probably a good 10 to 15 feet into the crosswalk already,” said Pitman Principal Rod Hollars.
The student suffered non-life-threatening injuries, but was transported to Doctor’s Medical Center, according to Hollars.
The driver, identified as Maria Rivas-Enriquez, 50, was allegedly unlicensed, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis. She was cited for driving without a license and failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
