On Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, at 10:28 pm, a Turlock Police officer in the area of E Canal Dr and N Palm St, Turlock, came upon a hit and run vehicle collision with injuries just west of the intersection in the eastbound lanes. Other officers, the Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched.
There were two vehicles involved, a black Ford sedan and a silver Chrysler minivan.
The black Ford sedan had one occupant who had fled on foot southbound on N Palm St prior to officers’ arrival. An identification card was located in the vehicle who belonged to a person with a suspended license and a misdemeanor warrant for resisting a peace officer. It is currently unknown if that was the vehicle’s driver. The silver Chrysler minivan had one occupant who suffered moderate injuries and was ground transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response with one firefighter accompanying them.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
It is currently unknown how the collision occurred.
