Officer had guns drawn at the house and have deployed K-9 units. Police announced to the suspect on loudspeaker, “The house is surrounded, we are not going away. Come out with your hands up."
A worker at A Special Place Day Care says the children are safe at this time. It is believed the suspect’s family is on scene at this time.
Turlock Junior High School was also in lockdown for a brief period of time due to this incident.
On Dec. 2 of last year, a burglary suspect on Crowell Road was chased by police to a residence near A Special Place Day Care and a lockdown was issued. The suspect in the house was later determined to be unrelated to the burglary suspect and the lockdown was lifted.
