The Conference for Sustainable Futures takes place concurrently with the annual Bioneers Conference, an acclaimed forum of social and scientific innovators meeting this year in San Rafael, California. Bioneers lectures and presentations will be beamed live to the Turlock campus by satellite from 9am to 1pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Speakers include Phillipe Cousteau, Gloria Steinem, Amory Lovins and John D. Liu.
Afternoon and evening programs taking place in Turlock include an opening presentation at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 13th by CSU Stanislaus History professor, Dr. Philip Garone, speaking on “The Fall and Rise of the Wetlands of California’s Great Central Valley.” On Friday, “Students, Communities, and Sustainability” will be presented from 2pm to 5pm.
Most lectures and presentations will take place in the Mary Stuart Rogers Educational Gateway Services Building (MSR), Room 130.
Conference admission is free and the event is open to the public.
