Many back-to-school activities are planned at CSU Stanislaus as the fall semester begins today. More than 9,000 new and returning students will report to the CSU Stanislaus main Turlock campus and its satellite Stockton Center to begin classes.
“Welcome Week” activities will take place Monday, August 22nd through Friday, August 26th.
Student organizations will host a full schedule of activities including midday events on the main quad featuring: survival tips on Monday, music on Tuesday, and games at the Warrior Grill on Wednesday.
Evening activities include a pool party at the dorms on Wednesday and a campus-wide “Block Party” on Friday night.
The Residential Life Village will also have be welcoming back their new and returning dorm residents with a series of private activities including a “Welcome Back” Luau, ice cream social, bowling night and tie-dye party.
The Advising Resource Center also has expanded advising hours to 8:30am – 4:30pm throughout the semester to support the university’s goal of helping students graduate on time. CSU Stanislaus has been recognized by the American Association of Schools, Colleges, and Universities (AASCU) as one of the top 12 schools in the nation for retaining and graduating students.
CSU Stanislaus Warrior Athletics also are contributing to the “Welcome Week” as exhibition games are planned August 24, 26 and 27. The men’s and women’s cross country teams will host the annual Running of the Warriors on Saturday, August 27.
