On Wednesday, November 17th, 2021, at 6:00 pm, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at Denair Mart Liquor and Food, 4700 Main St, Denair.

Deputies arrived on scene and began investigating. Throughout the course of their investigation, they were able to determine that a subject, later identified as Daniel Reagan, 35, of Waterford, had entered the business, held the clerk at gunpoint, demanded an undisclosed amount of currency, and then fled the scene in a gold Chevrolet SUV.

A short time later, deputies in the 400 block of E St, Waterford, saw the suspect vehicle leaving a residence. Deputies attempted to stop it, however, Reagan floored it and a pursuit was initiated.

Reagan eventually crashed his vehicle in a ditch near the intersection of Held Dr and E Briggsmore Ave, Modesto, before he was taken into custody.

A subsequent parole search of Reagan’s residence led to the discovery of a firearm with a tampered serial number, a replica firearm consistent with what was described to have been used in the robbery, and cash in similar denominations to what was taken in the robbery. A syringe loaded with a substance resembling heroin was also recovered.

During the pursuit, speeds reached approximately 80 miles per hour. Reagan also failed to yield to other motorists and ran stop signs and red lights, several times.

Reagan was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety, robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
