As Monday came and went, President Barack Obama failed to submit a budget to Congress on time for Fiscal Year 2014.
U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) said there was “no excuse” for the lack of a budget in a statement released via Facebook Monday.
“By continuing to put off passing a budget, we’re hurting not only the almost 14% in the Valley who are unemployed, but everyone looking to build a better future for themselves and their families.,” Denham wrote. “We have an obligation to those we represent to put aside our differences and work together to find common-sense solutions to balance our budget and create jobs. Every hardworking family has to balance its budget; I’m committed to ensuring Washington does the same.”
Monday's events mark the third consecutive year Obama has missed the budget deadline. His administration has not stated when their proposal will be released.
