In February, a Code of the West Gun Show at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds saw nearly double the attendance of previous years, drawing in nearly 8,000 individuals. Next weekend, the highly popular gun show will return to Turlock.
Peggy Smith of Code of the West Productions said that gun shows across the state have seen a significant increase in both attendance and sales over the past year.
“The lines at these shows are incredible,” said Smith. “There were people waiting in line for a couple of hours for ammo.”
The Turlock gun show in February featured gun-related booths and vendors from organizations all across the state. Smith said that many of the organizations, including some from Turlock, follow the Code of the West Production’s show circuit.
“We love doing shows in Turlock,” said Smith. “The people are so nice and it’s a nice atmosphere.”
The Code of the West Gun Show will be held on May 18 and 19 at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds, located at 900 N. Broadway in Turlock. Tickets are $10 each and are good for both days. Children 12 and under are free, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
