With the severity of the drought still so prominent, the City of Turlock is looking to reward residents for saving their water.
The goal is to recognize residents and businesses that put forth the extra effort to conserve water at home or in the workplace.
Covenant Village and local water saver Milton Trieweiler have been recipients of Turlock’s “Water Saving Hero” award for the conservation efforts.
You can nominate a local “Water Saving Hero” by visiting the City of Turlock online and filling out a quick form.
While the City is looking to reward those making efforts to save our water, they also ask that those participating in water wasting activities are reported in the effort to lower water usage in the area.
After receiving a report, a City of Turlock water conservation worker will respond and inform the customer about the importance of conserving water as well as provide suggestions for using water more efficiently.
To file a report of water waste, anyone can fill out the form to help keep our city on the path to water conservation.
You can also take a pledge to commit to making more water efficient action in your home.
Some pledge statements include fixing leaky toilets and fixtures, limiting showers to five minutes for less, installing low flow aerators and showerheads, or running only completely full loads of laundry.
If you have questions or would like to report a water emergency, please contact Municipal Services at 209-668-5590.
