At about 10:10pm Thursday night, California Highway Patrol and Turlock Police arrived at a residence in the 200 block of Fullerton Drive to conduct follow-up in a fatal DUI traffic collision case.

Investigators and officers located Leah Doucette, 30, of Turlock, sitting in a vehicle in front of the residence.

Doucette had a no-bail felony Ramey warrant out of Tuolumne County for murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of drugs causing bodily injury to another person, selling or transporting methamphetamines, possession of methamphetamines for sale, driving with a suspended license, possession of methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The warrant stemmed from a traffic collision that Doucette had caused in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 24th, 2023, on State Route 120 near Rushing Hill Lookout Road in Jamestown.

Doucette’s 42-year-old male passenger from Salida was killed in the crash, while Doucette suffered major injuries. She was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto where she spent a substantial amount of time recovering from her injuries.

After Doucette was released from Memorial Hospital, she failed to turn herself in. That’s when CHP Sonora officers and Central Division investigators obtained the warrant that they arrested her on.

Doucette was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on her warrant. She was later extradited and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
