At about 5:32pm Monday evening, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred in front of My Garden Cafe in the 1500 block of Geer Road.
The caller reported that he was approached by a man with a large pocket knife, who had displayed it in a threatening manner.
Officers arrived on scene and contacted a man and a woman, later identified as Farrin McCrary, 31, of Fresno, and Tiffany Dambrino, 28, of Oakhurst.
McFrary attempted to run toward an officer and wasn’t compliant, so a TASER was deployed. He and Dambrino were then detained in handcuffs without further incident.
Officers then discovered that McFrary was a sex offender due to a conviction for committing a lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 14 back in 2016.
Through the investigation, McFrary was positively identified by the victim during an in-field show-up.
McFrary and Dambrino were both arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of obstructing or resisting a public officer. McFrary was also charged with drawing or exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm in a rude or threatening manner.
