On Friday, July 15th, 2022, at 7:09 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of W Monte Vista Ave and N Golden State Blvd, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found two vehicles involved. One was a Chevrolet SUV and the other was a Honda coupe. The Chevrolet SUV was overturned and on its roof.
There were a total of five patients, three of which suffered minor injuries and two of which suffered moderate injuries. Some of the patients were stuck and had to be extricated by firefighters. It’s currently unknown which were transported to the hospital and which vehicle each were in.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring them to be towed away.
Officers began investigating and learned that as that Chevrolet SUV was making a northbound turn onto N Golden State Blvd from eastbound W Monte Vista Ave, the Honda coupe which was southbound on N Golden State Blvd broadsided it in the middle of the intersection and caused it to overturn. It’s currently unclear which vehicle had the right of way at the intersection at the time.
