On Thursday, September 22nd, 2022, at 7:07 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Seventh St and W F St, Turlock.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a downed bicyclist. Witnesses reported that a motorcyclist had struck him and fled the area.
Although the bicyclist was down, he was alert and conscious when contacted. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital with an unknown extent of injuries.
Officers began investigating and were told by a witness that they had seen the motorcyclist traveling westbound on W F St approaching Seventh St at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. The motorcyclist was described as a man wearing dark clothing. Officers were then told by another witness that they observed the bicyclist riding his bike in the area of the intersection when he collided with the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist then reportedly fled the scene westbound on W F St towards Lander Ave. Officers found and collected pieces of a blue and charcoal motorcycle fairing on the south side of W F St just west of the intersection.
The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Gavin Allison at 209-668-5550 extension 6698.
