If Turlockers are wondering how the the Christoffersen Parkway median east of Geer Road is looking so green through the drought, perhaps it’s because they are forgetting the grass is actually turf.
In 2012 the city laid the artificial turf in an attempt to create an attractive, sustainable option. The decision was made in response to efficiency laws and ordinances passed by the State of California, restricting sprinkler placements to the centers of medians.
