At about 6pm Friday evening, Turlock Police responded to an attempted kidnapping of a two-year-old in the 200 block of A Street.

At about 12:22am this morning, Officer Marquez was proactively patrolling as he usually does when he came across David Elkins, 44, of Turlock, in the 300 block of Almond Avenue.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating missing 16-year-old Monica Ascensio.

On Friday, at about 9:37pm, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and AMR responded to an aggravated assault that had just occurred at Central Park, located at Main Street and Golden State Boulevard, in Downtown Turlock.

Turlock City News has obtained additional information from the Turlock Police Department about the two intentional cat burnings by Joshua Scott, 21, of Modesto, that occurred within the past few weeks.

At about 6:55pm, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense at Central Park, located at S. Golden State Boulevard and Main Street.

On August 9, Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity in the 3000 block of Countryside Drive. The reporting party said that the subjects were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, ski masks, and believed they were about to commit a robbery.

At about 3:20pm Monday afternoon, Turlock Police responded to an aggravated assault at a residence in the 200 block of W. Main Street.

At about 2:20am Monday morning, Turlock Police and Fire responded to a cat that had been set on fire in an enclosed dumpster area behind Tilly’s, located at 2737 Countryside Drive.

On Monday, July 31st, 2023, at 5:10 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Domino’s, 1211 W Monte Vista Ave, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.
