In honor of Memorial Day, the Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home will hold its annual Turlock Memorial Day service at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The Turlock Memorial Day service has been a long running tradition at Turlock Memorial Park. Since 1963, the Turlock Memorial Park has held the annual service honoring and remembering those who lost their lives in battle while serving in the military.
“Every year, our country comes together on Memorial Day to remember the brave men and women of our armed services who lost their lives defending our country,” said U.S. Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Turlock). “This Memorial Day weekend, I encourage all Americans across the nation and in the Central Valley to find a way to remember our fallen service members and join me in honoring the extraordinary sacrifice they have made for our great country.”
Although Denham will not be present at the Turlock Memorial Day service, he will attend other Memorial Day services throughout the 10th Congressional District in both the Cities of Tracy and Hughson.
Speakers for the Turlock Memorial Day Service will include Turlock Mayor John Lazar and Turlock High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp instructor and retired United States Marine Corps Major Kelly D. Cross.
The Turlock Memorial Day Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
