How often do you stop for a pedestrian, crossing at a crosswalk?
California law requires drivers yield to pedestrians when they are crossing within a crosswalk. However, this law does not allow pedestrians to suddenly leave the curb to cross.
In this instance, a pedestrian in a motorized scooter was seen crossing Geer Road at the Pedras Road intersection. Although the pedestrian crossed on a red light, drivers didn’t take the time to stop.
Does this surprise you?
