Turlock’s Dust Bowl Brewing Co. will soon grow its Downtown Turlock Tap Room, following the restaurant’s unexpected success.
“They did not dream they were going to be that successful,” said Maryn Pitt, Turlock Assistant to the City Manager for Housing and Economic Development.
The expansion will add a second patio area to the right of the existing entryway. That patio area will likely be reserved for those seeking drinks, not a full meal.
“We currently envision the space to be beverage service only, not sit down dining,” said Michelle Peterson, Dust Bowl Brewing Co. spokesperson. “This will allow our guests the opportunity to enjoy a beer while they wait for a table.”
The new patio area is expected to open in the next two months, Peterson said.
In addition to the new patio, the renovation work will add fire sprinklers and additional restrooms to the common area of the Mercantile Building, Pitt said.
“I guess when you serve beer, you need more bathrooms,” Pitt said.
