Although signs stating “Do not feed the waterfowl” are abundant around the California State University, Stanislaus campus, many Turlockers play by their own rules and greet the fowl with bread and other treats.
Pictured here is a couple enjoying a picnic when they began to feed the ducks. But perhaps the signs should read “Feed at your own risk,” or “Beware of the ducks,” as the animals often become aggressive when fed by humans.
Whether the squeals of these patrons were ones of terror or delight, the university still advises that visitors and students do not feed the animals.
