Turlock police flooded the area of Castor Street and Lane Street Friday afternoon, arresting one after a family fight lead to a shot being fired.

At 3:11 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of Lane Street near Castor Street after the victim reported that the suspect, Emory Fitzpatrick, 65, allegedly shot in the direction of the victim with a handgun after an altercation, said Turlock Police Department spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Fitzpatrick was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, said Lewis.

Police extensively searched the area, assumingly for the handgun, and a house on the 300 block of Lane Street.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
