Turlock police are investigating an explosion that occurred Tuesday night inside an apartment in Turlock’s Briarwood complex.
The explosion blew the back door and kitchen window out of one apartment, and also broke a neighbor’s window.
Turlock police became aware of the explosion at 8:19 p.m., when they responded to a reported vandalism in progress in the 3300 block of Fosberg Road, Sgt. Stephen Webb said.
“Witnesses saw two people running away from the apartment,” said Webb. “It was later discovered that there had been an explosion inside the apartment.”
The Briarwood apartment complex is located on Monte Vista Avenue, just across Geer Road from California State University, Stanislaus.
No known injuries have been reported at this time.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.
