Two 10-year-old children are suspected of vandalizing the Dennis Earl Elementary School campus over Christmas break, Turlock police said.
The vandalism was discovered when a Turlock Unified School District worker went to the Dennis Earl Elementary School campus on the afternoon of Dec. 27. The worker found numerous broken building windows, and a window broken out of a school vehicle.
The worker, who does not wish to be identified, says 11 windows were broken on school buildings, causing more than $1,300 in damage. Two- to three-inch river rocks were thrown into the windows.
According to Turlock police, an officer was in the 600 block of E. Springer Dr. investigating a broken car window when the TUSD worker approached him and told him of the vandalism at Earl Elementary School.
Police say the officer who took the report noted two juveniles were believed to be responsible for the vandalism.
The juveniles were described as white, males, approximately 10 years old, and wearing black hooded sweatshirts. The sweatshirts appeared to have some type of black and white emblem, similar to Jordan style hoodies.
The officer believes both incidents are related and possible caused by the same juveniles.
