A high-speed chase with armed suspects raced through Turlock Monday night, following a home invasion robbery in Ceres.
The chase began in Ceres around 11:45 p.m., after two suspects were seen fleeing a gunpoint home invasion in a white Acura sedan.
The pursuit eventually passed through north Turlock and into a residential area near Geer Road and Springer Drive before continuing north on Geer Road into the Hughson area. Officers from the Turlock Police Department and California State University Stanislaus Police Department assisted in the chase.
Ceres police say speeds reached 130 mph during the chase.
Fortunately no innocent people were hurt, and the chase ended when the suspects ran into a utility pole and rolled several times before crashing into another pole just past Grayson Road on Geer Road. After the crash a fire broke out, but was quickly extinguished.
Police say both suspects wore body armor and handguns.
The names of the suspects have yet to be released by Ceres police.
