Monte Visa Small Animal Hospital invites cat owners to stop their boy kitties from giving gifts that keep on giving!
The first-ever Testicle Tuesday Festival will offer reduced-cost neutering for local cat owners.
For just $20, owners can bring their male cats to Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital for a neutering procedure. Normally this procedure costs $40.
Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital Director Sara Leimgruber says Testicle Tuesday is a chance to provide people who normally wouldn’t be able to afford this procedure the opportunity to have it done at an extremely reasonable price. And it helps the community by getting feral cats neutered.
Cats must be dropped off between 7 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 3 and Dec. 17 to the 901 E. Monte Vista Ave. hospital. The cats will be available for pick up between 12 noon and 1 p.m.
All cats must be ear tipped and they must be in a carrier or trap. Also, owners must bring a clean towel.
Dr. Rob Santos, owner of the hospital, explained why the holiday season was chosen for this event.
“December is a great time to have a testicle festival. It is a veterinarian’s slowest surgery time,” he said.
Of special note, if your he turns out to be a “she” – evidently not uncommon with cats – a spay will cost $65.
Available add-on services include rabies vaccines for $5, flea treatment for $10, FELV vaccine for $10, FVRCP vaccine for $10, and FELV/FIV test for $35.
Leimgruber says Monte Vista Small Animal Hospital plans to hold more Testicle Tuesdays in the future due to the overwhelming success of this unique pilot program.
Limited space is available, with only a few spots remaining for the Dec. 17 session. An additional session may be added that day to meet demand, however.
