Students in Walnut Elementary School's Visual & Performing Arts program showed off dioramas and participated in the school’s Art on the Green Day, held Sept. 25.
Students in grades K-6 students and their families worked together to create dioramas, which are three-dimensional miniature models depicting a scene or object. This year’s theme was “Dreams.” Art on the Green gave students and families a chance to tour the collection of dioramas from each grade level.
Kindergarten teacher Susan Allen explained that the dioramas are a tool to learning the academic learning processes associated with artistic imagery and development of images.
The themes for each grade were as follows:
Kindergarten- Sweet Dreams
1st- Book of Dreams
2nd- Silly Dreams
3rd- Dreaming of Adventures
4th- California Dreaming
5th- Dreamland
6th- Dreaming of the Future
