A new consignment store promises to bring a taste of the local art scene to Downtown Turlock.
Off The Wall Consignments will specialize in new and used furniture, home décor, unique items and, most importantly, art.
The store is owned by partners Scott Faubert and Trina Walley and will offer rental space to individual and vendor consigners inside a 3,000 square-foot facility located at 100 Palm Ave., at the intersection of Palm Avenue and Main Street, across from the Bank of America.
Both Faubert and Walley see an opportunity in Turlock for this niche market, especially for displaying local artistic talent – something they say is sorely in need of service.
“There are a lot of good artists here in Turlock and this is an opportunity to expose local talent,” Faubert said. “I think it will work out well.”
The word is already out in the local arts scene.
“We are not even open yet and we are already getting artists who are interested and have agreed to rent space,” Faubert said.
The store will be open this weekend for consignments from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or appointments can be scheduled by calling (209) 485-8796 or e-mailing offthewallconsign@gmail.com.
Faubert says the store will open to the public on July 16 with a grand opening event scheduled for August 3. Some early items for sale can already be found at www.facebook.com/offthewallconsign.
