Father’s Day is a great opportunity to just sit down with dad and watch the game together. Whether that is in the comfort of your own home, or out to an actual game, watching a sporting event can be a fun way to spend time with dad on his day.
Minor League Baseball team the Modesto Nuts will be playing at the John Thurman Field in Modesto on Sunday against the Bakersfield Blaze at 1:05 p.m. Using the promotional code “father” while reserving tickets online, guests can catch the Modesto Nuts’ Father’s Day Deal. For $20 a person, the Father’s Day Deal includes playing catch on the field with dad from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.; all-you-can-eat buffet including tri-tip, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, and soft drinks from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; exclusive access to the shaded party deck; buy four $20 tickets and dad will also receive a complimentary replica cap.
Tickets to the Modesto Nuts games are $6 general admission, and $5 for children and seniors. John Thurman field is located at 601 Neece Drive in Modesto.
Sunday is also the last day of the Merced County Fair, where a Rodeo and variety show will be held at 4 p.m. in the Grandstand area. General Admission to the Merced County Fair is $5 for everyone 6 years and up. Children 5 and under receive free admission. The Merced County Fairgrounds are located at 900 Martin Luther King Junior Way in Merced.
