Heard The News? Turlockers will get a chance to do so this summer, as Huey Lewis and The News will play at the Stanislaus County Fair.
“This rock sensation will be a powerhouse on the stage that night,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Their irresistible music will rock the stage.”
The bluesy pop-rock of Huey Lewis and The News will take to the Budweiser Variety Stage at 8:30 p.m. on July 17. The concert, hosted by The Hawk 104.1 FM, is free with the price of Fair admission.
The Grammy Award-winning Huey Lewis and The News peaked at No. 1 on Billboard charts, with 19 Top 10 hits like “The Power of Love,” “The Heart of Rock & Roll,” “Heart & Soul,” “I Want a New Drug,” “Walking on a Thin Line,” and “If This Is It.” The band's current tour commemorates the 30th anniversary of the release of their No. 1 album “Sports.”
The 2013 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 12 for a 10 day run. Discounted admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and Fair season passes are on sale now.
