The Music Department at California State University, Stanislaus, in collaboration with the Turlock Concert Association, will present a gala concert on April 25 at the Turlock Community Theatre.
Featuring both traditional and contemporary music performances by CSU Stanislaus music faculty and students, the gala will include choral, wind and jazz ensembles from the university.
“This concert truly serves as a showcase for the Department of Music in that it will feature all of our major student ensembles – choral, wind, and jazz – as well as solo performances by outstanding faculty and student artists, together in one evening,” said Deborah Kavasch, Department of Music Chair. “No other event during the year highlights the exceptional range of talent and musicianship accomplished by our students and faculty.”
The Department of Music and the Turlock Concert Association have partnered once before, in 2010, when the two presented a well-attended concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the university.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Turlock Concert Association and to reach our to their audience,” said Kavasch.
The performance will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 25 in the Turlock Community Theatre, located at 1574 E. Canal Dr. in Turlock. The concert is included in the Turlock Concert Association subscription series.
Individual concert tickets are $12 general admission and $8 for seniors, military, students and CSU faculty and staff. Tickets will be available at the door or may be purchased online at www.csustan.edu/SOA.Proceeds benefit the Department of Music scholarship fund.
