Looking for a fun and educational day for kids and families? California State University, Stanislaus has it covered.
CSU Stanislaus is presenting its Second Annual Science Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Naraghi Hall of Science at the university. The event is free and open to the public.
The fun-filled event will feature themed activities for kids, including kitchen chemistry and a “Six-Legged Zoo,” full of creepy crawlies. Open labs and guided tours will also be available, including the campus planetarium.
While the event is oriented towards children and families, everyone can learn something new and valuable from attending, the university says. There will be plenty to see and touch, such as gardens, skeletons, skulls, fossils and snakes.
The event focuses on the academic fields of biology, chemistry, geology, math, nursing, physics, and psychology.
Multiple campus organizations have come together to present the educational event, including the CSU Stanislaus American Chemistry Society Club, the Bio Club, the Blue-Green Hand Society, Geology Club, the Math Club, School of Nursing, Paleo Club, Psychology Club, the Student Nurses Association, and the Society of Physics.
Free parking will be available for attendees in Parking Lot 11 at the university campus, located at One University Circle in Turlock.
