Henry F. Russell

Visitation for Henry Russell, 84, will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 North Soderquist Rd. Burial will be in the Fossett Cemetery in Murray, Ky. He died Tuesday after a long illness.
He was born in Murray, Ky., the first of five children, to Wesley Y. and Lillie M. Russell. He was a WW II veteran. After his military service, he made his home in California. He belonged to the VFW and was also a 32nd degree in the Masonic Lodge. He loved working in his garden while family enjoyed the rewards. He enjoyed sitting in his garden with his dog Chuckie. They would bird watch together. He and his wife especially enjoyed their summer vacations to his hometown of Murray. He will be missed by all that loved him and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma E. Russell; daughters, Barbara and her husband, Byron, Gray, Carol and her husband, Everett, Spurgin; granddaughters, Kimberly and her husband, Dave, Shackleford and Rene McCormick; nine great-grandchildren, Kenny Story Jr. and Kyle Story, Shelby McCormick, Brenna, Mardee, Ivy, and Jade Shackleford, and Kelsey and Kaylin Story; brother, Wesley Russell; two sisters, Sue Stom and Elaine Donelson; and half sister, Jimmie.
His grandson, Kelly Story, preceded him in death by two days due to a hit and run. He is also preceded in death by brother Foe Russell.
